Position Summary

The Director of Member Engagement & Events is a key leadership role responsible for designing, coordinating, and optimizing high-impact events and member opportunities that strengthen the Fredericksburg Regional Chamber’s membership experience. This position ensures operational excellence across all Chamber functions by creating seamless event logistics, enhancing member value, supporting sponsor fulfillment, managing CRM data integrity (ChamberMaster), and coordinating internal systems that drive engagement and retention.

Working largely behind the scenes, the Director provides detailed project management, event execution, member coordination, and advanced administrative support for Chamber programs. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, tech-savvy, skilled in CRM and data management, and passionate about creating positive experiences for the business community.

This role works closely with leadership, partners, volunteers, and staff to deliver exceptional events and meaningful engagement opportunities that advance the Chamber’s mission and regional impact.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications, Event/Project Management, Hospitality, Public Policy, or related field preferred.

3-5+ years of experience in event coordination, membership management, advocacy support, or nonprofit/chamber work.

Strong administrative, organizational, and logistics management skills.

Excellent written, verbal, and customer service communication abilities.

Ability to manage multiple deadlines with accuracy and professionalism.

Comfortable with event technology, CRM platforms, registration tools, and basic A/V systems.

Demonstrated commitment to member service and stakeholder support.
