POSITION OVERVIEW The Director of Program Development is responsible for overseeing the operations of the Emerging Professionals in Columbia (EPIC) Division, Small Business Committee and Leadership Columbia. This position includes volunteer management, event and program planning and division communications.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES EPIC (Emerging Professionals) Division

Work in partnership with the EPIC Chair and Executive Committee.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the EPIC membership.

Oversee communications with EPIC members, committees and volunteers.

Maintain EPIC’s membership data and onboarding process.

Oversee all EPIC’s administration including coordination of committees, programs and sponsorship management.

Small Business Committee

Organize events for Small Business Week.

Coordinate the selection of the Small Business of the Year honoree and plan the Small Business of the Year Celebration.

Coordinate the selection of the Nonprofit of the Year honoree and work collaboratively with the Chamber's major events director to plan the Nonprofit of the Year celebration.

Coordinate, attend and take notes in all committee meetings.

Coordinate all aspects of the annual Leadership Columbia program, including class recruitment, volunteer management and coordination of sessions.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

Experience in event and program management preferred.

Must be able to exercise independent judgment and make decisions necessary to achieve success in assigned areas.

Possess general computer, organizational and planning skills.

Excellent communication and writing skills.

Have a strong work ethic and be willing to take initiative on projects.

Be self‑motivated with the ability to complete projects under limited supervision and direction.

Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with staff, volunteers, Chamber members and the general public.

Must be team‑minded for this position and all positions within the Chamber.

Occasional travel and events outside normal workday required.

Must have reliable transportation.

Frequently transports materials with the need to lift up to 50 pounds.
