A leading space and defence technology organisation is seeking an accomplished
Senior PCB Design Engineer
to support the development of high-performance, space-rated avionics hardware. This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical programmes delivering advanced electronic systems for space exploration, satellite platforms, and defence applications.
You’ll play a key role in the end-to-end design of complex electronic hardware, working closely with firmware, systems, and test teams to deliver robust, flight-ready solutions in a highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
Design high-speed digital circuits, including schematic capture and PCB layout specifications
Interface closely with FPGA/firmware engineers supporting space electronics, sensors, and actuation systems
Support prototype bring-up, testing, integration, and design verification/validation
Perform worst-case analysis, signal integrity, timing, and power dissipation studies
Collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams to define requirements and resolve technical challenges
Develop test benches and simulations using tools such as Questa/Modelsim
Produce clear, structured technical documentation covering designs, analyses, and test results
What You’ll Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
7+ years’ experience in electronics design and development
4+ years’ experience working with modern microprocessors/DSPs, FPGAs, memory, A/D and D/A converters, and communication interfaces
Strong proficiency with PCB design/layout tools and digital simulation environments
Solid expertise in worst-case analysis, signal integrity, timing analysis, and test coverage
Hands-on experience with lab debugging, board bring-up, and troubleshooting
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across engineering disciplines
Desirable Experience
VHDL or Verilog development for space or high-reliability applications
Design and development of space-grade or radiation-tolerant electronics
