We are seeking a Head of Movies to lead the creative and strategic vision for Daily Wire’s longform content, including feature films, documentaries, and mini-docs. This role oversees the development pipeline from concept through pre‑production, ensuring projects align with the company’s mission, brand, and business goals. This is a senior leadership role for a strategic, creative executive eager to shape the future of Daily Wire’s film and documentary storytelling.
Primary Responsibilities
Set and lead the creative and strategic vision for the company’s feature film, documentary, and mini‑documentary slate, aligning content with brand, mission, and audience growth objectives.
Own long‑range slate planning and portfolio balance across original projects, adaptations, acquisitions, and nonfiction content.
Provide senior creative leadership across all development activity, overseeing script and concept evaluation, filmmaker selection, narrative shaping, and early project packaging.
Lead documentary and mini‑doc strategy, ensuring strong storytelling, factual integrity, and mission alignment across the nonfiction portfolio.
Partner with Production to transition projects from development into pre‑production, ensuring creative, financial, and operational readiness for greenlight.
Oversee greenlight preparation and executive review materials, including creative packages, budgets, and schedules.
Direct content acquisition and IP integration strategy, evaluating rights opportunities and overseeing adaptations in partnership with Legal and Business Affairs.
Experience & Requirements
background in Senior leadership in film and documentary development, production, or studio environments
Proven ability to identify, shape, and advance scripted and nonfiction projects from concept through greenlight
Strong storytelling judgment, with expertise in script evaluation and documentary narrative structure
Deep understanding of industry trends, audience behavior, and market dynamics across film and documentary content
Financial acumen, including evaluating budgets, resource needs, and slate economics
Collaborative, cross‑functional leader able to thrive in a fast‑paced, mission‑driven environment aligned with conservative media values
