Overview The Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics seeks experienced physicians committed to an academic career in general obstetrics and gynecology. The position will hold the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor, commensurate with qualifications and experience. Positions may be based at Emory University Hospital, Emory University Hospital Midtown, Emory Decatur Hospital, Emory Hillandale Hospital, Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital, or Emory Johns Creek Hospital.

Duties and Responsibilities Responsibilities include teaching medical students and residents, participation in the Obstetric Rapid Response Team, and inpatient and outpatient obstetrics and gynecologic surgery. Candidates should be comfortable providing a broad spectrum of obstetrical and gynecologic care to medically complex patients. The faculty member is expected to serve the university in teaching, research, and clinical service appropriate to training and career goals.

Primary clinical responsibilities include participation in all clinical activities of the Division of General Gynecology & Obstetrics at Emory, especially its clinics and hospitals. Duties include delivering excellent patient care, expanding access for routine obstetrical and gynecological patients, participating in in‑house labor and delivery call coverage, and functioning as a member of the Obstetrical Rapid Response Team. Faculty will supervise mid‑level providers at their clinical site.

Teaching responsibilities include:

Providing teaching instruction and supervision to residents and medical students in Gynecology and Obstetrics.

Providing lectures to fellows, residents, and medical students as requested.

Attending Grand Rounds, M&M Conferences, Journal Club, Division meetings, and other Departmental activities.

Participating in mentorship of medical students and residents.

Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited ACGME obstetrics and gynecology residency.

Board Eligible or Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Licensure by the Georgia Composite Medical Board required prior to commencement of employment.

Additional Details NOTE: Position tasks are required to be performed in‑person at an Emory University location; remote work is not an option. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
