Senior Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant (Field Based)
We are hiring a motivated, hands‑on Senior EHS Consultant to join our Performance & Assurance technical team in Sunnyvale, California. This is a fixed‑term, full‑time role (40 hours per week) for a duration of 4 months, renewable. Employees will work a minimum of 3 on‑site days per week.
Responsibilities
Oversee and direct team members to effectively manage tasks for on‑time delivery and quality of their deliverables.
Perform compliance audits to assess client compliance with applicable health and safety or environmental regulatory requirements, client standards, or management systems.
Support our clients’ desire to improve safety performance by providing training, field coaching, and targeted EHS assessments.
Identify follow‑up corrective actions to close audit findings.
Provide technical assistance on EHS compliance and EHS management system projects on a range of areas such as R&D laboratory safety, chemical safety, machine guarding, laser safety, robotics safety, hazardous materials use, storage and waste, and EHS auditing.
Develop and implement EHS compliance procedures, plans, permits, and reports.
Manage tasks within assigned scope, budget and schedule and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.
Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to exceed their expectations.
Support ERM partners and project managers to effectively manage and deliver projects.
Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.
Qualifications
BS in engineering, environmental science, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline preferred.
Minimum of 7 years of applicable experience providing EHS support with an emphasis on health and safety.
Effective written and verbal communication, organization, and analytical skills; experience recording and writing detailed technical data and reports is a plus.
Ability to succeed in a fast‑paced consulting environment, handling multiple assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and re‑prioritizing tasks as needed.
Valid driver’s license and good driving record.
Pay Transparency Annual base pay: $76,000–$97,400 ($36.54–$46.82 per hour). The position is limited‑term and non‑exempt. Pay within the range will be based on education, experience, geographic location, performance, and other factors. Bonus pay may be available; casual and fixed‑term/Flexforce employees are not bonus eligible.
