Warner Bros. Discovery . This role supports the WBD Global Information and Content Security (GICS) teams and helps maintain secure platforms across the organization.

Hybrid Work Requirement:

You must work a hybrid model (3 days onsite) from our Silver Spring, DC, or Atlanta office.

Your New Role The WBD Security Engineering team empowers the GICS teams by deploying, managing, and maintaining shared, reliable, and extensible security platforms. As a Cybersecurity Engineer, you will ensure security best practices are followed, tools and processes that support a secure platform are maintained and kept current, and that business processes are configured correctly.

Responsibilities

Implement design reviews to evaluate security controls.

Identify and communicate opportunities to enhance WBD’s security posture.

Build and/or manage enterprise security platforms effectively.

Communicate effectively across all levels of management to articulate WBD security goals and vision.

Role Accountabilities

Plan, design, engineer and implement security‑related technologies.

Understand technical security issues, their implications within WBD business units and communicate them to management and other leaders.

Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain security infrastructure – including software and hardware in cloud environments, as well as on‑premises.

Conduct security audits and assessments to evaluate effectiveness and identify improvement areas.

Hardening, auditing, monitoring and logging of host and operating systems with appropriate controls and best practices.

Research and explore emerging security technologies and determine their appropriate use within the company.

Prepare, document, and create standard operating procedures and protocols; train and mentor other team members as needed.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in building, designing, and maintaining enterprise security tools.

Minimum 5+ years of hands‑on experience in security engineering.

5+ years of successfully implementing advanced cybersecurity technology in a complex environment.

Engineer and administer security platforms including SIEM/SOAR systems, endpoint detection and response, vulnerability management, anomaly detection, and cloud analysis.

Hands‑on technical experience with networking and computing system architectures, specifically their security aspects.

Experience managing the Brinqa vulnerability management platform and Groovy programming.

5+ scripting experience (Python or other equivalent languages).

Thorough understanding of information security principles, techniques, policy frameworks, and best practices.

Hands‑on experience in public cloud infrastructures like AWS.

Minimum 3+ hands‑on experience with automation technologies (Ansible, Terraform, etc.).

Preferred Experience (Not Required)

Security and Cloud certifications (CISSP, Splunk Admin, AWS Solution Architect).

Hands‑on technical experience with compliance and regulatory frameworks and how they influence architecture designs and reviews.

Compensation Pay range: $91,000 – $169,000 per year. Additional rewards may include bonuses, long‑term incentives, and program‑specific awards. Benefits include health insurance, wellness programs, life and disability insurance, retirement savings plan, paid holidays, sick time, and vacation.
