Overview One of the largest not-for-profit tertiary referral centers in Alabama with 400+ active medical staff, a level 2 trauma center and a medical school that hosts primary care and residents. Service area of 600,000 in the 75‑mile radius. Recognized as one of the most beautiful hospitals in the US.
Role Join an existing team of 3 surgeons in a not‑for‑profit hospital owned group. Shared call 1:4. Perform TAVR and Watchman procedures and 22 ORs with access to 2 endovascular suites and open heart suites, as well as the da Vinci robotic surgical system. Assist Cardiothoracic APPs in the OR, vein harvesting, and facilitate rounds. Manage ICU with 56 beds in the progressive care unit.
Package $100k Start Bonus. Salary commensurate with experience plus productivity bonus. Expected year‑one compensation $800k‑950k. Medical, dental, disability & life insurance. Retirement plan. Paid malpractice with tail coverage. Student loan repayment options. CME & licensure fee allowances.
Skills & Qualifications
Board Certified or Board Eligible Thoracic Surgery, with or without U.S. residency.
Proficiency with TAVR, Watchman, robotic, and open‑heart procedures.
Board Eligible or Board Certified Thoracic Surgery (BE/BE).
Current U.S. work visa or willingness to sponsor H1B Visa.
Strong catheterization and surgical experience in a high‑volume tertiary center.
