What The Day Will Look Like

Thought Leadership:

Collaborate with clinical colleagues and the Thought Leadership team to develop and articulate consulting viewpoints on existing and emerging health care topics; work with marketing and PR to elevate Aon’s thought leadership through speaking engagements and media exposure.

Solution and Partnership Development:

Leverage clinical priorities and intellectual influence to develop consulting solutions and partnerships aligned with Aon’s growth objectives; partner with IIS and innovation resources to drive solutions through completion, including external partners as needed; develop investment criteria for required initiatives.

Client Consulting:

Lead clinical health strategy and delivery of consulting assignments for customers, coaching and overseeing work by other experts while actively engaging in analysis and presentation to the client; drive client strategies that improve patient quality of life, generate strong clinical and financial outcomes; partner with the Health Transformation Leader on clinical staffing, priorities, and execution of clinical functions such as reviews, appeals, audits, and other services.

Data Analytics:

Use client health and related data to provide insights and actionable observations that address key cost and performance drivers; collaborate with analytic leadership to enhance predictive modeling and outcomes evaluation.

Business Development:

Participate in business development meetings with existing clients and prospects; translate Aon’s broad capabilities into compelling value propositions that encourage employer engagement; refine the clinical go‑to‑market strategy to meet client needs across employer segments.

Knowledge Sharing:

Partner with the thought leadership team to raise the collective insightfulness of the Health Solutions consulting practice through regular sharing of articles, market trend observations, and internal webcasts; lead collaborative efforts that shape Aon’s internal point of view.

Talent Development/Leading via Influence:

Mentor and develop other clinical colleagues, regardless of direct reporting lines, to advance their consulting skills and serve as a role model for giving and receiving feedback.

Global Health Business Contribution:

Provide a key voice in multi‑country thought leadership and solution development related to clinical matters of interest to employers; serve as a key member of the global clinical think tank.

Delivering Aon United:

Model a “one‑firm” approach at all times, ensuring alignment and collaboration across the organization.

How This Opportunity Is Different As Chief Medical Officer, you will drive the clinical strategy for solving today’s and tomorrow’s challenges for clients, working hand in hand with subject matter experts, client teams, vendor partners, and clients themselves. The role reports directly to the Health Transformation Leader within Aon’s Innovation & Integrated Solutions (IIS) team, a strategic hub that integrates insights across pharmacy, wellbeing, clinical, leave, legal, and care delivery domains.

Skills And Experience That Will Lead To Success

Fifteen years of industry experience, including management of colleagues and leadership of clinical strategy and solution development for employer clients.

Experience engaging employers at an executive level and establishing trusted advisor relationships.

Demonstrated ability to manage projects to completion, prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain exceptional performance standards with attention to budget.

Experience developing and building clinically focused solutions, partnering with internal and external collaborators.

Broad business perspective with deep health care domain expertise.

Proven track record of successful cross‑functional collaboration with subject matter experts, analytics teams, and intellectual influencers.

Experience translating health care data into insights and actionable strategies for employers.

Willingness to travel 25‑50% of the time.

Education/Certification

Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree.

Current Board Certification in the relevant medical specialty.

Salary range: $400,000 to $475,000 annually, subject to experience, education, and location. The role is eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and other incentive plans.
