Join the Saint Alphonsus Health System at the McMillan Family Medicine Clinic as a Medical Assistant (MA). This full‑time position supports a busy physician and works with a collaborative team of MAs and RNs in a friendly, fast‑paced environment.
Job Summary & Highlights
Support a busy and established physician.
Collaborate with other MAs and RNs to provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care.
Utilize a broad range of MA skills across diverse patient interactions.
Responsibilities
Perform primary MA duties, including patient intake, clerical tasks, and charting.
Conduct phlebotomy, administer immunizations, and prep injections.
Assist with minor procedures, complete point‑of‑care (POC) tests, and manage task inbox orders.
Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and providers; work independently and as part of a team.
Work Schedule
40 hours per week, 4–10 hour shifts.
Mon‑Thu (Fridays off). Shift times may vary: 6:30 am–5:00 pm or 7:00 am–5:30 pm.
Location
12273 W. McMillan Road, Boise, ID 83713 (near the intersection of McMillan and Cloverdale Roads).
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent at hire.
MA certification required within 90 days from hire from an approved agency:
American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA)
American Medical Technologists (RMA)
National Healthcare Association (CCMA)
National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA)
National Association of Health Professionals (NRCMA)
American Medical Certification Association (CMAC)
National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (NPCE MA)
New graduates: MA certificate of completion from an accredited program plus either a 100‑hour externship or six months MA experience.
Experienced MAs: 1 year of experience or current certification, with renewal within 90 days from hire.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification (AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network) required at hire.
