Executive Director, Technology - Epic Resolute
The Executive Director, Technology – Epic Resolute will provide strategic, operational, and technical leadership for the design, implementation, optimization, and governance of the Epic Resolute application. Our strategic modernization of Quest’s revenue cycle management will create a unified digital ecosystem that connects the patient journey from order to cash. This position will leverage Epic Resolute capabilities to simplify and standardize the billing process, accelerate revenue realization, improve payer performance, and create a frictionless financial experience for Quest’s patients, clients and partners.
This position will be located (hybrid) in either Schaumburg, IL or Secaucus, NJ.
Pay Range:
$235,000 - $275,000/year + 30% Annual Incentive Plan + Long-Term Incentive

Responsibilities
Define and drive multi‑year transformation strategy that aligns revenue cycle modernization with Quest’s enterprise growth goals
Position Resolute as a business accelerator creating competitive advantage through operational standardization, automation, and payer alignment
Lead and inspire a large, multidisciplinary team of Epic Analysts, revenue cycle operations leaders, payer strategy experts, finance professionals and program managers
Establish clear performance expectations, success metrics, and accountability frameworks
Oversee the end‑to‑end design, build, and deployment of Epic Resolute, configuring for high volume lab billing, multi‑payer complexity, client billing, and non‑encounter‑based services
Drive configuration that supports complex payer rules, pricing structures, and contractual arrangements
Oversee rigorous readiness and deployment processes across multiple operational sites to ensure a smooth transition without disrupting testing and reporting operations
Leverage Resolute rule engines and automation to minimize manual intervention, reduce rework, and increase first‑pass claim resolution rates for commercial and government payers
Build a real‑time revenue performance dashboard to monitor cash flow, denials, collections and client billing activity across order entities
Drive measurable improvements in cash acceleration, days in accounts receivable, denial rates and revenue capture, positioning Quest as an industry leader in lab revenue cycle efficiency
Redesign fragmented billing processes across multiple lines of business into a unified standardization model supported by Resolute
Implement rules‑based automation for client billing, payer‑specific routing, and pricing logic to reduce operational cost and variability
Establish a continuous improvement methodology/framework to adapt Resolute configuration as Quest expands service offerings and payer contracts evolve
Serve as Quest advocate to Epic for enhancements aligned to the reference lab business model, including high volume claim throughput and client billing capabilities
Build strong partnership with Quest executives, payer partners, major health systems, and national accounts to drive adoption, alignment and interoperability
Ensure Quest’s brand is synonymous with clear, accurate and timely billing
Establish a national governance structure for Resolute configuration, payer rule maintenance, and enhancement prioritization
Ensure the highest quality standards, including compliance with HIPAA, as well as Federal, State and third‑party regulations
Manage vendor partnerships and oversee contractor performance to ensure operational excellence, accountability, and timely delivery of results
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or a related field is required. An advanced degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
Certification in Epic Resolute is required.
At least 15 years of progressive leadership experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, including at least 7 years in executive or senior leadership roles overseeing large scale, multi‑payer billing operations.
A minimum of 7 years of Epic Resolute experience including design, build, implementation and optimization leadership.
Deep understanding of commercial payer dynamics, payer contracting, and claims adjudication.
A track record of reducing accounts receivable days, improving first‑pass resolution rates, and optimizing cash flow through technology‑enabled revenue cycle transformation.
Demonstrated ability to lead large cross‑functional teams and manage enterprise‑level technology initiatives.
Strong executive presence and communication skills with proven ability to engage senior leadership, operational stakeholders, payers, and technology partners.
Experience establishing and operating governance frameworks for large‑scale Epic deployments or complex billing platforms.
Strong knowledge of HIPAA, CMS and commercial payer compliance requirements applicable to laboratory services.
Proven experience driving enterprise change management in complex operational environments.
Experience leveraging automation, RPA, or AI to modernize billing operations is highly desirable.
Additional knowledge of any of the following: Epic Beaker, MyChart, Aura, Prelude Registration, Cadence Scheduling, EpicCare Ambulatory for Genetic Counseling, Cheers Call Management & Campaigns, EpicCare Link Portal, Nebula Cloud Platform, Base Payer Platform Network for Providers, and Gallery DMS.
The ability to travel 20‑35%.
