Pediatric Cardiology Health Sciences Series - Interventional Cardiologist
University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) – Mattel Children’s Hospital Division of Pediatric Cardiology Requisition Number: JPF08820 UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital is seeking a Pediatric Interventional Cardiologist. Applicants should have formal 4th‑year fellowship training in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology and must be board‑certified or board‑eligible in Pediatric Cardiology. Current trainees are welcome to apply. The Pediatric Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory performs over 500 cases annually, including more than 50 transcatheter pulmonary valve replacements, VSD closures, lymphatic interventions, PDA closures, aortic valve replacements, hybrid interventions, and all standard transcatheter procedures. Adult congenital interventions comprise 25–30% of the volume. The lab participates in multicenter clinical trials and maintains an active translational research program for biodegradable stents. Position Summary: • Perform interventional and diagnostic catheterizations. • Provide inpatient coverage for general pediatric cardiology and participate in outpatient clinic and inpatient service. • Work closely with the head of the cath lab, Dr. Daniel Levi. • Support translational research and participate in clinical studies; clinical research experience is valuable. • Opportunity to work with the Pediatric Transplant/Cardiomyopathy program for those interested in heart transplant and heart failure. Additional Duties: • Faculty appointment at the David Geffen School of Medicine. • Attend department meetings, grand rounds, and professional development activities. • Engage with teaching and mentorship of trainees when appropriate. Qualifications: • Formal 4th‑year fellowship in Pediatric Interventional Cardiology. • Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Cardiology. • Strong commitment to patient care, research, and academic activities. • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment. • Demonstrated adherence to the UCLA commitment to equity, inclusion, and anti‑racism. Compensation: • Salary range $115,100 – $294,590 (UCLA salary scale; additional compensation available under the Health Sciences Compensation Plan). • Academic rank and salary determined by experience.
