Job Summary The Head of Finance will be responsible for directing the financial strategy, planning, analysis, and reporting functions for Bci Miami. The Head of Finance serves as a strategic business partner to U.S. executive leadership and the Foreign Head Office, driving profitable growth, and ensuring financial control. The Head of Finance will lead the budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes while overseeing a comprehensive financial reporting framework.

Responsibilities The duties of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

Strategic Planning & Financial Management

Lead the development, implementation, and management of the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range financial planning cycles for the Bci Miami.

Serve as a strategic financial advisor to senior management, providing data‑driven insights to support decision‑making, resource allocation, and strategic initiatives.

Develop and present financial analysis and business cases for major projects, capital expenditures, and new business/product initiatives.

Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and operational metrics, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization and revenue generation.

Financial And Management Reporting

Oversee the preparation and presentation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual management reports to both the local management team and Bci Chile.

Conduct in‑depth variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide clear, actionable commentary on the financial performance of the branch.

Ensure accurate financial reporting and provide a comprehensive view of the U.S. branch’s profitability (e.g., by business line, product, and client segment).

Manage the process for financial data submission, reconciliation, and reporting to the Head Office systems.

Preparation and timely reporting of key performance indicators for various units including the preparation of sales performance metrics.

Responsible for profitability analytics at the transaction, unit, and branch level.

Responsible for the preparation and follow through of the monthly Risk Management Committee (RIMIC) package.

Leadership And Team Management

Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team, fostering a culture of high performance, analytical rigor, and continuous improvement.

Drive efficiency in finance processes and reporting infrastructure, leveraging advanced financial modeling and data visualization tools (e.g., PowerBI and Domo).

Act as the primary point of contact for financial matters between the Bci Miami and Bci Chile finance/gestion and executive teams.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with department heads (Business Lines, Operations, Treasury, IT, Credit) to integrate operational metrics into financial plans and forecasts.

Additional Duties

Receive and provide clear, constructive feedback in a cooperative and professional manner.

Ability to understand, speak, read and write English and Spanish.

Effectively speak before groups of customers or employees.

Assume evolving duties and responsibilities of position.

Work all hours required to fulfill job duties and responsibilities (including weekends, evenings and holidays as needed).

Travel as required.

Provide coverage for other positions as requested.

Ability to carry and lift boxes and/or other objects that may weigh between 10 and 25 pounds.

Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Compliance Responsibilities In the performance of their duties, all Bci – Miami Branch staff members are required to comply with all state and federal regulatory and legal requirements, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Federal Election Campaign Act of 1979, the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and the Bank Bribery Amendments Act. Additionally, all staff members must comply with the Bci’s Personnel Manual and Code of Ethics and other policies of Bci which are either currently in place or which may become effective during the staff member’s employment.

Pre‑hire Requirements Computer Skills Ability to operate IBM compatible personal computers; fluency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Python, Google Suite, and other banking applications needed to perform the functions of the position.

Education Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance or Accounting or related field desired.

Certifications / Licenses CFA and/or CPA is desired but not required.

Experience

Minimum of ten years of relevant experience in financial planning and analysis role ideally within a financial institution.

Knowledge of banking products and operations is required.

Individuals must be comfortable with detail and must be able to work under the pressure of deadlines.

Ability to proactively seek solutions to complex problems.

Must be able to quickly learn, comprehend and communicate these concepts.

Must be able to multitask and work independently as well as in a team environment.
