Senior Business Analyst (Hybrid – Chicago, IL)
The Mom Project is proud to support our client, a retail banking institution based in Chicago, with their search for a Senior Business Analyst to join their team.
This role investigates and identifies strategies to optimize business operations and services, enabling informed business decisions. The Senior Business Analyst defines business requirements to guide technology builds and operational execution, analyzing data, documenting business processes, and collaborating closely with stakeholders. The role also evaluates technology performance and troubleshoots system and workflow issues to ensure expected business outcomes are achieved.
This is a hybrid role, working 4 days in‑office in Chicago.
Responsibilities
Elicit business requirements and analyze feasibility to ensure initiatives achieve expected outcomes
Support project teams throughout the full project lifecycle to ensure alignment with business requirements
Develop clear, usable project documentation covering both functional and non-functional requirements
Apply domain and functional expertise to drive business value across the assigned portfolio
Break down complex strategic problems and analyze data to generate insights and recommendations
Source and analyze business and market data to evaluate project impact on business results
Build test cases to validate business requirements and support end‑user testing
Assess the efficiency and performance of technology solutions, systems, and workflows
Identify, diagnose, and resolve system issues and business process gaps
Exercise sound judgment in solving complex problems within established frameworks
Work independently on complex initiatives, including unique or ambiguous situations
Support primarily a business or group within the organization, with potential enterprise‑wide impact
Skills and Qualifications
Post‑secondary degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience
4–6 years of relevant business analysis experience
Technical proficiency gained through education and/or professional experience
FinTech experience is preferred

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part‑time roles will be prorated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents the company’s expected target for the first year in this position.
