South Side Healthy Community Organization Business Analyst – Data Infrastructure and Analytics

The Business Analyst will play a critical role in supporting SSHCO’s mission by analyzing business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring that technology solutions align with organizational goals. This position requires a blend of analytical skills, business acumen, and a passion for improving healthcare outcomes for the residents of the south side of Chicago.

Key Responsibilities

Gather, document, and analyze business requirements from stakeholders across the organization.

Evaluate current processes and workflows, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Work closely with technical teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for new systems or enhancements.

Facilitate meetings, workshops, and interviews to elicit requirements and feedback from administrative and leadership teams.

Develop and maintain process maps, business cases, and data flow diagrams to support decision‑making.

Analyze business issues to develop methodologies, solutions and communication materials to improve reporting services.

Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to program delivery, patient outcomes, and operational efficiency.

Support the implementation of technical projects and applications.

Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data privacy laws, and nonprofit best practices.

Prepare clear, concise reports and presentations for leadership, funders, and external partners.

Innovatively collaborate and support the data infrastructure and analytics team.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.

2+ years of experience as a business analyst, preferably in the healthcare or nonprofit sector.

Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.

Proficiency with business analysis tools (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Visio, Power BI) and basic project management software.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex information for diverse audiences.

Understanding of healthcare operations, terminology, and regulatory frameworks (e.g., HIPAA, Medicaid/Medicare).

Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders in a mission‑driven environment.

Commitment to equity, inclusion, and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations.

Preferred Skills

Experience with nonprofit funding models, grants management, and impact reporting.

Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare analytics.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.

Certification in business analysis (e.g., CBAP, PMI‑PBA) or project management (e.g., PMP) is a plus.
