Job Summary
Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the MRI technologist performs routine to complex magnetic resonance procedures and related techniques, producing images for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner. They ensure services are performed safely in accordance with guidelines and regulatory requirements, and serve as part of the imaging center team seeking and providing feedback for improved clinical practice.
Location Chevy Chase, Maryland. Prospective candidate will also cover our Rockville center as needed.
Employment type Part‑time (PRN)
Salary $38,000 — $55,000
Requirements
Up to 2 years experience as an MRI technologist.
Minimum Associate’s Degree in Radiology or graduate of an accredited two‑year radiology program.
Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography, or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMIT), with current valid registration.
MR advanced registration (ARRT or ARMIT) required upon hire for IDTF centers; for non‑IDTF centers within first 12 months.
Must meet state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice.
Skills & Abilities
Knowledge of routine to complex MRI procedures and protocols.
Skill in operation of MRI equipment and applicable ancillary equipment.
Ability to work independently and multitask.
Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
Understanding of human cross‑sectional anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and data retrieval.
