Senior Security Sales Specialist – SLED – West Coast
Join Akamai Technologies as a Senior Security Sales Specialist in the West Coast State, Local, and Education (SLED) market. You will work with State and Local Government agencies, higher education, K‑12 schools, and special districts to shape cloud security strategies, deliver cutting‑edge cloud security solutions, and implement mission‑critical security services.
Responsibilities
Develop strategic sales plans to maximize opportunities in existing accounts and through new account acquisition.
Utilize marketing resources and industry knowledge to create and manage a high‑volume sales pipeline and ensure forecast accuracy.
Secure new and renewal contracts to promote adoption of Akamai technology and enhance customer satisfaction.
Partner with sales engineers, influencers, and subject‑matter experts to deliver consultative engagements with prospects and customers.
Qualifications
At least 5 years of relevant sales experience and a bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated knowledge of the Cyber Security Ecosystem, Cloud Security, and Zero Trust.
Successful experience in system, solution, or channel sales within the SLED environment.
Prior experience selling IT solutions to California state and local governments and educational institutions.
Prior experience selling IT solutions to the Department of Homeland Security.
Demonstrated ethical sales practices, integrity, and alignment with Akamai values.

Compensation For U.S. candidates only, the On Target Earnings (OTE) for this position ranges from $222,900 to $463,100 per year. OTE is determined by experience, skills, certifications, and location. The compensation package may also include equity awards and an Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).
