About the Role Do you love bookkeeping, accounting, and numbers? Snyder Cohn’s Client Accounting Advisory Services (CAS) group is looking for a staff accountant who is passionate about providing accounting and advisory support to a wide variety of clients. Snyder Cohn is a 95-year-old CPA and business advisory firm in North Bethesda. Our clients include for-profit and nonprofit organizations, start‑up, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as those with revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars. Each client is unique with differing needs, so you can expect challenge and variety.

Responsibilities We are looking for someone who is working toward, or has, an accounting degree with a solid understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting, balance sheets, income statements, journal entries, general ledgers, trial balances, and chart of accounts. The position also requires an understanding of payroll processing and quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, attention to detail and the ability to multi‑task. QuickBooks proficiency and Excel skills will be needed to be a strong performer in this role, and we are willing to train and mentor.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or a related field.

A minimum of one plus year of comparable experience is preferred.

Compensation Salary $64,000 - $71,000 (includes approximately 8% additional compensation for hours worked in excess of 40 in a regular workweek).

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Snyder Cohn considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. As such, in certain circumstances, offers may be outside of the listed salary range.
