Safety Communications Senior Advisor

Join the Clean Energy Revolution. Become a Safety Communications Senior Advisor on the Safety Management System (SMS) team at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this role, you’ll develop outreach strategy plans to engage employees and leaders in safety initiatives, aligning with Edison Safety’s mission to eliminate serious injuries and fatalities.
This role will manage the safety communications strategy for high‑visibility safety response, outreach and messaging, and partner with project teams to coordinate safety program communication plans. Responsibilities include executive talking points, company‑wide safety events, standardizing communication and presentation delivery, refreshing the Safety Portal site, publishing content for the CraftComm mobile app, and approving incident learnings in the Weekly Incident Report.
Responsibilities
Develop and run enterprise‑wide safety programs and initiatives, creating new processes to advance Edison Safety’s strategic objectives.
Lead coordination with technical experts in safety culture, safety management systems, and strategy; influence decisions on practices and policies internally and with external partners.
Analyze complex technical problems and deliver innovative solutions where precedents may not exist.
Establish project objectives and manage timelines, risk analysis, milestones, deliverables, budgets, and approve tasks and schedules to ensure successful project execution.
Determine and pursue courses of action to obtain desired results, working through consultation and agreement with others rather than formal management review.
Drive implementation of safety programs, policies, and procedures at the enterprise level, making strategic recommendations to senior management.
Operate independently to determine methods and procedures for new or special assignments.
Influence company leadership on major initiatives and implement strategic projects.
Present, facilitate, and provide recommendations at executive forums, developing materials and reports for company leadership.
Conduct advanced‑level training and presentations related to Safety projects and programs.
Provide guidance on work activities to colleagues.
Serve in an emergency response role as part of the Company’s Incident Management Team, with periodic on‑call reporting during day, night, and weekends as emergencies arise.
Protect the Company’s physical, financial, and cybersecurity assets, handling private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other highly sensitive information with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.
Minimum Qualifications
Ten or more years of experience leading and/or developing health, safety, or compliance programs, activities, or systems.
Valid Class C Driver’s License.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading safety programs at a utility.
Experience developing and executing strategic plans and objectives.
Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint.
Experience developing executive‑level talking points.
Additional Information
The position’s work mode is hybrid; the employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Employees are required to work and reside in the state of California. Work mode can change based on business needs.
