REQ#1486The Director of Operations is responsible for the direction and management of all aspects of functional processes (i.e. Claim, Underwriting, etc.), operation review, and improvement. This position ensures effective implementation of strategic objectives and policies through implementation of efficient and effective process and technology initiatives. The Director of Operations works with leaders to understand the key drivers and values for our PolicyOwners. This role evaluates processes for better division of work between the functional group (underwriter and claim), operations, business development, and other departments. This role diagnoses quickly and recommends role delineation, workflow, and process management.SPECIFIC DUTIES:* Implement strategic objectives with substantial impact on the MagMutual Strategic Plan and Philosophy, short term and long term.* Optimize end to end processes and roles including the flow of work between business units.* Responsible for gaining full understanding of business lines and related business processes in order to identify and initiate process optimization, leveraging technology, and human capital.* Develop, implement, and evaluate metrics and benchmarks to measure effectiveness of operational initiatives and day to day processing.* Assure internal and external regulatory compliance and consistent executing on business processes.* Develop, implement and evaluate staff and productivity models to optimize staffing levels for functional areas and operational roles.* Collaborate with internal business partners to ensure consensus and drive optimal implementation of business strategies and regularly communicate regarding progress and trends that may affect relevant business results.* Analyze vendor opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and financial results.* May be responsible for management of vendor(s).* Serve as Trusted Advisor to policyowner by educating them on functional business processes.* Promote continuous improvement and innovation to be stronger and more successful in the market place.* Knowledgeable of all products under MagMutual and assist the company with growth, retention, and service goals.* Assist with reports, audits, and communication with reinsurers.QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:* Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field; Master’s degree preferred.* Ten or more years in a senior leadership role in the Professional Liability Insurance industry.* Superior knowledge of multiple operational functions and principles including finance, customer service, production, and employee management.* Superior verbal and written communication skills* Superior interpersonal skills.* Proven ability to plan and manage operational processes for maximum efficiency and productivity.* Ability to streamline or implement structures and roles that boost speed efficiency while supporting rapidly shifting business demands.* Strong working knowledge of industry regulations and legal guidelines.* Strong problem solving skills.* Proven experience at driving consensus across multiple stakeholders, strong attention to detail, and analytical skills.* Experience in applying analytical techniques to understand business processes, workflows, systems, and applying technology to meet business needs.* Must possess a positive customer service demeanor, work well in a team environment, and possess a desire to be proactive and grow professionally.* Ability to work on multiple projects/initiatives with minimal direction and provide real time, critical support.Location:Atlanta OfficeWe offer our team members so much more than competitive salaries.
