We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a dynamic team in Chicago. This role involves preparing technical reports, specifications, and plans, as well as designing foundations, retaining walls, and other geotechnical elements of construction. You will work on high-profile projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Key Responsibilities
Design earth structures, deep foundations, excavation support, and underpinning systems Assist project managers with field coordination and project management Scope and oversee geotechnical investigations and construction projects; perform inspections as needed Prepare geotechnical reports and standard logs (drilling/test pit logs, field dailies, chain of custody) Perform fieldwork as required Qualifications
Bachelor’s in Civil or Geotechnical Engineering (Master’s preferred) 5+ years of geotechnical experience in investigations and construction inspections FE/EIT required; PE preferred Experience with geotechnical reports, specification writing, and field coordination Prior field experience in earthwork, pile construction, load testing, excavation support, and retaining wall design Software knowledge: gINT, Slide/SLOPE/W, PLAXIS, LPILE, GRLWEAP, MSEW, SHAKE Excellent communication, analytical, and multitasking skills Ability to work independently and in a team environment Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license What’s on Offer
