Offer Description A COMPETITION FOR THE POSITION OF INSTITUTE PROFESSOR
IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PAST LANDSCAPE DYNAMICS
The Stanisław Leszczycki Institute of Geography and Spatial Organization of the Polish Academy of Sciences is seeking a candidate for the position of Institute Professor in the Department of Past Landscape Dynamics, in connection with the expansion of the research profile to include paleoecological and biogeographical studies using genetic analyses of modern and fossil organisms.
The candidate should meet the following requirements:
academic degree of habilitated doctor (doktor habilitowany) in Earth sciences, biological sciences, or related disciplines,
research experience and a documented scientific record in Earth sciences or biological sciences, with a focus on biogeography, phylogeography (molecular biogeography), and molecular paleoecology, including at least 50 publications in journals indexed on the JCR list,
supervision of doctoral candidates, including at least one successfully completed doctoral degree procedure,
experience in leading research projects or documented participation in research projects obtained through national or international competitive calls,
active participation in national and international scientific conferences, including participation in organizing committees of national and international conferences,
completion of research fellowships/internships at foreign research institutions,
documented scientific collaboration with national and international research centers,
experience in organizational activities: holding functions, participation in the work of committees, teams, and scientific societies, participation in committees for academic promotion procedures (doctoral and habilitation proceedings),
at least a good command of the Polish and English languages, both spoken and written.
THE APPLICATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE COMPETITION SHOULD INCLUDE:
an application for employment addressed to the Director of the Institute,
information on scientific achievements together with a list of publications,
a copy of the habilitated doctor diploma or another document confirming possession of the habilitated doctor degree in Earth sciences, biological sciences, or related disciplines.
