VICE-RECTOR IN CHARGE OF THE SCHOOL OF NATURAL SCIENCES AT THE ADAM MICKIEWICZ UNIVERSITY, POZNAN ANNOUNCES A COMPETITION for the position of ASSISTANT PROFESSOR at the Department of Avian Biology and Ecology in the Institute of Environmental Biology at the Faculty of Biology Where to apply

Research Field Biological sciences Education Level PhD or equivalent Skills/Qualifications a doctoral degree in biological sciences; documented research experience in the biology and ecology of birds; scientific achievements confirmed by publications in reputable international scientific journals, including leading ecological and/or zoological journals; at least a three-month international research internship completed at a recognized, world-renowned scientific institution; at least a six-month research internship completed at a national scientific institution (other than Adam Mickiewicz University); experience in research on the reproductive biology of wild birds, particularly cavity-nesting species and birds of prey; practical field identification skills of birds, including identification based on vocalizations; a valid bird-ringing license authorizing the ringing of all bird species occurring in Poland; knowledge of statistical analysis tools, including excellent command of R software and geostatistical methods; knowledge of legal aspects of natural resource management and conservation; experience in teaching, including field classes; very good knowledge of both Polish and English, spoken and written; Languages ENGLISH Level Excellent Languages POLISH Level Excellent Research Field Biological sciences Additional Information

competition committee begins working no later than 14 days after the deadline for submission of documents; formal evaluation of submitted proposals; call to provide additional or missing documents if necessary; selection of candidates for the interview stage; interviews for candidates who meet the formal requirements; the committee has the right to request external reviews of candidates' work or to ask candidates to conduct teaching assignments with an opportunity for student evaluation; the chair of the competition committee announces the results and informs the candidates; this information will include justification with a reference to candidates' strengths and weaknesses; submitted documents will be sent back to candidates (not applicable for documents sent by e-mail).
