AmeriCorps
Overview
This VISTA project supports GOALS’ mission to provide free, team-centered social development opportunities through athletics, learning, and service-learning by enhancing the systems that make these opportunities sustainable. The VISTA will focus on building long-term capacity for GOALS’ partnership with Magnolia Science Academy by developing operational infrastructure that improves coordination, communication, and resource alignment. The member will create sustainable outreach materials, and evaluation processes that help GOALS better plan, document, and refine its enrichment offerings for low-income, at-risk TK–6 students. Additionally, the VISTA will strengthen resource development efforts by researching partnership and funding opportunities, documenting program needs, and building systems that support future grant applications and strategic planning. Through these efforts, the project will increase organizational sustainability and enhance GOALS’ ability to deliver consistent, high-quality youth development programming over time.
Member Duties The AmeriCorps VISTA will strengthen the long-term partnership between GOALS and Magnolia Science Academy (Anaheim) by developing sustainable systems, resources, and communication structures that expand access to GOALS programs. The VISTA will build outreach and engagement infrastructure, design tools that streamline coordination between GOALS and school administrators, and create templates for program information, scheduling, and partnership communication. They will develop processes for gathering and organizing feedback, build data systems that support planning and reporting, and map opportunities for resource development—including potential partnerships, grants, and in‑kind support. Through these capacity‑building activities, the VISTA will help establish a durable, replicable framework that strengthens collaboration, increases organizational readiness, and supports long‑term student access to GOALS enrichment opportunities.
