Job Duties The successful candidate will teach introductory accounting and related business courses, providing comprehensive classroom instruction in face‑to‑face, online, hybrid, and direct‑study modalities. Other responsibilities include maintaining office hours, engaging with campus culture, participating in departmental responsibilities, and fostering an inclusive learning environment district‑wide.
Minimum Qualifications
Master’s in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, or Bachelor’s in business with accounting emphasis or business administration with accounting emphasis or economics with an accounting emphasis AND/OR Master's in business, business administration, business education, economics, taxation, finance, or the equivalent.
Master’s in accountancy or business administration with accounting concentration, with a CPA license is an alternative qualification.
Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse backgrounds of community college students pursuant to Title 5.
Desirable Qualifications
Recent successful teaching or instructional experience at the adult, secondary, or postsecondary level within accounting.
Ability to design instructional activities, course syllabi, outlines, and other necessary materials.
Experience evaluating and adapting pedagogy to meet diverse student learning needs.
Background in business and computer accounting.
Familiarity with the educational needs of students pursuing careers in business and accounting.
Experience assessing progress relative to goals and collaborating with teams to implement improvements.
Enthusiastic participation in professional responsibilities, community, and campus service.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, demonstrated through varied teaching strategies and assessment methods.
Experience within the community college environment and/or a primarily teaching institution.
