MacGregor Black is partnering with a high-growth international consumer goods business in its search for a
Head of Operations , based in North Carolina.
As part of a small, fast‑growing, and entrepreneurial team, the Manager of Operations will play a central role in building and scaling our U.S. operational footprint. This position requires someone who is highly hands‑on, resourceful, and comfortable operating in a lean environment where ownership, initiative, and adaptability are essential.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee all day‑to‑day operations across logistics, supply chain, and distribution for the U.S. market, taking a proactive and hands‑on approach to problem‑solving.
Drive operational excellence by building efficient, scalable processes aligned with the company’s rapid growth trajectory.
Lead end‑to‑end supply chain activities, identifying bottlenecks early and implementing durable solutions.
Manage all warehouse and distribution activities performed by the company’s 3PL partner in Pennsylvania, ensuring adherence to service levels and KPIs.
Maintain accurate inventory visibility and deliver regular updates on inventory and shipment status to internal teams and customers.
Act as a key operational liaison with customers, managing order requirements, delivery timelines, and resolving supply‑chain issues quickly and professionally.
Provide operational insights, timelines, and solutions that support commercial and customer service teams.
Support cost calculations, budgeting, and financial analysis to maintain efficiency and transparency in operational spending.
Track performance metrics and introduce continuous improvement initiatives to enhance speed, cost‑efficiency, and service quality.Leverage understanding of Amazon logistics, marketplace requirements, and compliance processes—experience that is highly beneficial to success in this role.
Ensure all operational systems and processes enable consistent on‑time delivery and strong customer satisfaction.
Apply consumer goods industry expertise to manage returns, reverse logistics, and the high service‑level expectations of retail and e‑commerce customers.
What We’re Looking For
Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong hands‑on mentality, ideally suited to a small team where autonomy and proactive action are essential.
Proven track record in operations, supply chain, or logistics within consumer goods, retail, or e‑commerce environments.
Experience collaborating with or managing 3PLs; ability to optimize warehouse workflows and distribution performance.
Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Excellent communication skills for cross‑functional collaboration and customer‑facing operational interactions.
Nice to have: Experience working with major U.S. mass retailers (e.g., Walmart, Target, Costco) and/or sourcing and supplier management in China
