Studio Manager, Operations & Growth
Unplug Meditation is the world’s first drop‑in meditation studio, on a mission to make meditation simple, modern, and accessible to everyone. Our Santa Monica studio offers a welcoming, elevated experience for both first‑time meditators and seasoned practitioners. We’re looking for a Studio Manager to lead day‑to‑day operations while driving revenue, retention, and community connection.
JOB OVERVIEW The Studio Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of studio operations, team leadership, and client experience, while partnering closely with ownership to drive growth. You’ll lead a front‑of‑house team and collaborate with a large roster of instructors to ensure the studio runs smoothly, meets financial goals, and delivers an exceptional experience at every touchpoint.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Manage, train, and motivate front desk staff to deliver a consistent, high‑touch client experience.
Create and manage staff schedules; ensure adequate coverage and operational efficiency.
Oversee daily studio operations and ensure adherence to Unplug policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for instructors, managing scheduling, sub coverage, private sessions, and room rentals.
Lead onboarding, ongoing training, and performance coaching for staff.
Maintain clear, consistent weekly communication with staff and instructors regarding promotions, classes, events, and operational updates.
Foster a positive, professional studio culture rooted in accountability, care, and excellence.
Own studio‑level revenue targets including memberships, class packs, events, and retail.
Support and train staff on sales, memberships, and customer engagement.
Monitor attendance, conversion, and retention metrics; implement strategies to improve new‑student return rates and member retention.
Perform outreach to new students and support ongoing client relationships.
Plan and execute targeted email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotions.
Partner with ownership to promote events, workshops, and special offerings.
Build relationships within the local community and develop strategic partnerships to drive awareness and growth.
Ensure the studio experience consistently reflects the Unplug brand and mission.
Manage studio expenses within budget and flag any anticipated overages.
Collaborate with ownership on monthly goals, reporting, and performance tracking.
Contribute ideas and initiatives to support long‑term studio growth.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
2+ years of management experience in a membership‑based studio (wellness, fitness, yoga, hospitality, or similar).
Strong leadership and people‑management skills.
Sales‑driven and comfortable working toward revenue and performance goals.
Highly organized with excellent communication skills.
Experience using Mindbody or similar scheduling/CRM systems.
Passion for wellness, meditation, and community‑building.
