Senior Engineer
for a contract with a client in
Cincinnati, OH.
Candidates must have deep expertise in SQL database administration and modern CI/CD and infrastructure‑as‑code methodologies to be considered.
Rate Range:
$56/hour to $60/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Senior Engineer Job Responsibilities
Design, build, and maintain Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) and Azure SQL Database (PaaS) environments, ensuring security and scalability.
Implement DevOps practices for database changes, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure‑as‑code, and automation for deployment and monitoring.
Optimize database performance and reliability through proactive tuning, capacity planning, and SRE‑style operational support.
Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools for provisioning, patching, and backup processes.
Monitor and troubleshoot mission‑critical workloads, ensuring high availability and compliance with organizational standards.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate database solutions with application architectures and cloud services.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
Minimum 5+ years as a SQL Database Administrator, with at least 2+ years working on Azure SQL environments.
Proven expertise in Azure SQL Managed Instance (SQL MI) and Azure SQL Database (PaaS) administration.
Hands‑on experience with DevOps practices, including CI/CD for database changes, Infrastructure‑as‑Code, and automation.
