SAP IS-U Sr Techno Functional Consultant – Meter, Device Management & Field Services
Location:
Denver, CO & Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid)
Compensation:
$110 per hour on C2C basis
The Senior Techno-Functional Consultant applies deep functional process expertise and strong SAP IS-U system knowledge in Service Order Solution/Metering Solution to translate business needs into system-enabled solutions during the Customer Information System (CIS) program. Acting as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams, this role leads requirements gathering, functional design, configuration guidance, testing support and end-to-end process validation. The Senior Consultant ensures that solutions are feasible, aligned with system capabilities, compliant with business rules and regulatory standards, and optimized for user experience and operational continuity.
Essential Responsibilities
Develop middleware interfaces to synchronize SAP IS-U service orders with third‑party field service tools.
Use ABAP to customize billing/invoice print layouts and integrate them with SAP Smart Forms or other forms.
Configure SAP IS-U service order workflows (e.g., meter installation/disconnection) to automate processes.
Configure SAP IS-U device management master data and integrate with AMI.
Write ABAP code to validate meter data flows from external systems and resolve discrepancies in billing.
Act as the primary functional liaison between business partners and technical teams to translate business needs into system‑enabled solutions.
Lead workshops to gather requirements, validate functional processes, and define functional specifications and enhancement needs.
Analyze business processes and map them to system capabilities, identifying gaps and recommending solution approaches.
Troubleshoot functional issues, perform root‑cause analysis, and recommend optimization opportunities.
Create functional documentation including process flows, requirements, functional specifications, and user readiness materials.
Collaborate with solution architects, engineers, and cross‑functional SMEs to ensure alignment across business processes, systems, and integrations.
Support UAT, cutover activities, and go‑live readiness for functional domains.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
5–7 years of techno‑functional experience in enterprise systems or transformation programs.
Strong understanding of core business processes and system‑enabled workflows.
Experience with functional design, configuration guidance, testing, and system troubleshooting.
Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills.
Ability to manage multiple functional tasks and collaborate cross‑functionally.
