Vice President / Head of Building Diagnostics, Forensics & Construction Consulting - Southern California A well established structural engineering firm in San Diego is looking for a Junior Structural Engineer to join their team. This is a great role for someone early in their career who wants hands on experience, strong mentorship, and exposure to a wide range of project types across Southern California.
About the Role You will support design and analysis on a variety of building projects including commercial, residential, institutional, and specialty structures. The firm is known for high quality work, close client relationships, and a collaborative environment where junior engineers get real responsibility and steady growth.
What You Will Do
Assist with structural design for wood, steel, concrete, and masonry buildings
Build models, run calculations, and prepare drawings and technical documents
Coordinate with senior engineers, architects, and contractors throughout the design process
Support construction phase work including site visits and field observations
Learn firm standards, workflows, and design approaches while growing into more independent tasks
What You Bring
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
EIT preferred or in progress
Strong understanding of structural fundamentals and building code basics
Familiarity with common analysis tools is helpful but not required
Clear communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Attention to detail and willingness to learn
