Administrative Assistant

Position Title: Administrative Assistant - Classification: Part-time, Hourly Employee - Pulse Job Level: 1 (Entry-level) - Reports to: Interim Administrative Manager (primary), Executive Director (secondary) - Supports: Pulse student/families, Programming staff, Finance Director

Weekly Schedule: 30 hours/week; Monday - Friday - Daily schedule will primarily occur during Pulse's daytime office hours (8am-4pm), with one afternoon/evening Front Desk Shift per week (3-8pm) - Plus, occasional daytime or weekend hours to support off-site performances, outreach events, or emergency front desk coverage

Pay rate: $20-22/hour (starting rate), commensurate with experience

Position Summary: Berkshire Pulse is seeking an enthusiastic entry-level administrator to assist with administrative tasks, daily operations, and student services for a growing, vibrant dance education center in Housatonic, MA. The Administrative Assistant, reporting to the Interim Administrative Manager, serves as the first point of contact with our community and is the primary team member staffing the Front Desk during their working hours. They are responsible for phone, email, and registration/payment systems during Pulse's office and studio hours, as well as light facilities maintenance tasks and daily interaction with clients and studio artists. Beyond Front Desk responsibilities, the Administrative Assistant leverages digital technology in the service of Pulse's classes and programs, maintains and tracks a variety of data, both electronic and paper, and contributes their support to organization-wide projects related to fundraising, marketing, studio operations, and performances. As a member of the Berkshire Pulse year-round administrative team, the Administrative Assistant is curious and engaged, collegial, ethical, flexible, and finds interest in exploring new systems and approaches to communication and organization. They are a self-starter and collaborator who will work with colleagues and affiliates, building a day-to-day system of communications through awareness of the organization's daily classes, special programs, and outreach initiatives. They support and engage in collaborative relationships, are detail-oriented, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have an enthusiastic and passionate interest in accessible dance and performing arts education.
