Director of Procurement
to join our team remotelyor at HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will be responsible for leading company-wide sourcing, vendor management, and spend optimization efforts. Youwill build and scale a centralized procurement function that supports rapidgrowth while driving transparency, cost savings, and compliance—particularlywith pharmacy procurement as a key operational focus. WhatYou’ll Do:
Develop and standardize a centralized procurementpolicy and process that promotes operational efficiency, spendvisibility/controls, and compliance, integrating acquisitions asnecessary. Implement and optimize a new procurement software tool, ensuringconfiguration aligns with business needs and provides actionable reporting forleadership and department heads. Lead annual budget planningprocesses in coordination with FP&A, aligning procurement strategy withfinancial goals. Establish a collaborative framework with department heads toempower visibility and control of department-specific spend, vendorrelationships, and budgeting. Assess the current state of pharmacyprocurement operations, systems, and supplier contracts. Identifyopportunities for consolidation and optimization of pharmacy purchasingactivities to leverage combined volume for cost savings. Develop andimplement an inventory management system for pharmacies to support supply chainvisibility and control. Integrate pharmacy procurement into the corporateprocurement matrix to enable unified visibility of company-wide spend andsupplier data. Work closely with the Compliance and Legal teams to ensure allprocurement activities, vendor contracts, and policies meet regulatory and legalstandards. Partner with Legal to review and negotiate vendor contracts,ensuring appropriate risk mitigation language and service levelagreements. Other duties as assigned WhoYou Are:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business,Finance, or a related field; advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CPSM, CPM,Lean Six Sigma) a plus. 8–10+ years of experience in procurement,sourcing, or supply chain, including leadership roles in high-growth ormulti-location environments. Proven success designing and scalingcentralized procurement operations and policies. Strongknowledge of procurement software and spend management systems; experience withimplementation is a plus. Experience in healthcare, pharmacy, or regulatedindustries strongly preferred. Demonstrated ability to drive costsavings, process improvements, and supplier performance management. Skilled invendor negotiations, contract review, and cross-functional stakeholdercollaboration. Strategic thinker with a hands‑on, execution‑orientedapproach. Excellent communication, project management, and leadershipskills.
