This position is located at SC Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD) - Office of Mental Health, C.M. Tucker Jr. Nurse Care Center-Roddey Pavilion, 2200 Harden Street Columbia, SC 29203.

As the Program Manager I, under the supervision of the ONIT Director of Informatics, you will provide support and training for staff regarding clinical software systems in use, such as electronic health records (MyUnity and MyAvatar). You will provide troubleshooting support for end users and identify areas for system improvements, ultimately impacting clinical and fiscal outcomes. Track issues and resolutions to identify trends and the need for additional modifications and/or training needs. Promote system functionality by participating in the design, building and testing of OMH software systems. Primary lead for EHR at C.M. Tucker while also providing support for EHRs at all OMH facilities.

Responsibilities for the Program Manager I include

Clinical creditility is a crucial factor in the success of this position. Must be able to successfully bridge the gap between clinical and IT staff. Assist with changes to workflow. Provide end user support for clinicians for the electronic health records and other system and document resolutions in the HelpDesk system software.

Provide training on software applications, primarily, but not limited to the electronic health records. Include both initial and ongoing training for both remediation and implementation of new functionality. Create, update, and disseminate training information on the electronic health records and other software systems.

Maintain the software training environment including test, patients, and users. Serve as a support liaison for other departments who use the training environment.

Provide software downtime support by disseminating information regarding downtimes, help maintain currency of downtime policies and developments, maintain and update downtime forms through collaboration with the Information Management Committee and the Print Shop.

Maintain as appropriate with policies in regard to Corporate Compliance, HIPAA, and a Harassment Free Workplace.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in nursing and at least four years' experience in a long-term care or clinical inpatient setting using an electronic health record.

Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.

Informatics certification.

Post-Hire Requirements

Have a thorough understanding of the principles of utilizing electronic health records and other software systems understanding how they can contribute to the quality of care, increase reporting capabilities, increase patient safety and user satisfaction across the continuum.

Have a working knowledge of what is involved in implementation of software systems, user support, regulatory requirements and maintaining the integrity of data.

Have working knowledge of hospital regulatory requirements and data analysis.

Be able to provide individual and group training on the software systems supported.

Be able to develop, maintain, and disseminate training materials for end user of the software systems.

Assist in maintaining the Training Environments available for software systems.

Participate in testing of upgrades and new functionality.

Be able to take calls and work after hours.
