Seeking a Controller to manage the financial accounting of the organization who will ensure accurate and efficient financial management. The role manages the day-to-day accounting, prepares financial reports, budgeting processes and supports the organization in stewarding resources that advance its mission. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, strong leadership skills, and extensive experience in streamlining accounting processes and financial reporting. This position requires someone who is highly organized, can manage multiple priorities, and will work closely with the CFO and cross-functional teams to ensure accounting processes are efficient, compliant, and aligned with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities Financial Management and Reporting
Oversight of accounts payable/receivable, payroll, general ledger, etc.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
Manage month-end and year-end close processes.
Budgeting and Forecasting
Lead development of annual organizational budget, including the preparation of financial forecast and monitoring actual vs budget variances.
Support program managers in developing and monitoring budgets.
Internal Controls and Audit
Develop and maintain strong internal controls and fiscal policies.
Coordinate annual audit and prepare required schedules.
Operations and Process Improvement
Evaluate and enhance financial systems, tools and workflows.
Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA preferred
3-5 years of accounting experience
Skills and Competencies
Strong understanding of GAAP and reporting standards.
Proficiency with accounting software (e.g. Sage Intact, Blackbaud, etc,)
Excellent financial and financial modeling skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and accountability.
Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial staff and board members.
Commitment to mission and values of the organization.
Highly organized, with an aptitude for details, follow-up, and follow through.
Full-Time 40 hours per week
Salary: $100,000.00
