BD Executive | Metric Geo | Heavy Civil Construction
Metric Geo is partnering with a respected civil contractor to identify an experienced Estimator to support competitive bidding across grading, paving, and transportation projects.
About the Role This position plays a key role in preconstruction, producing accurate, competitive estimates while supporting bid strategy, risk review, and early project planning. You’ll work closely with senior estimators, operations, subcontractors, and clients to ensure strong bid submissions and smooth handoffs to the field.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed estimates covering labor, materials, equipment, and production rates
Review drawings, specifications, and site conditions to define scope and risks
Perform quantity takeoffs and validate data used in bids
Coordinate pricing with subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
Identify project risks and support value engineering discussions
Enter and review bid data, including overhead and margin recommendations
Assist with bid reviews, contract evaluations, and technical proposals
Submit RFIs and clarify scope during the bidding process
Support bid submissions and participate in estimator-to-operations handoff meetings
Assist Project Managers with cost control and bid integrity post-award
Travel to job sites or preconstruction meetings as required
Key Requirements
5+ years of experience in civil construction
2+ years of estimating experience (junior or above)
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Proficiency with AGTEK, Bluebeam, MS Excel, and HCSS HeavyBid.
Excellent communication, organization, and analytical skills
