LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Payroll Accountant for one of our customers located in San Jose, California. This position is 100% in-office! The ideal candidate will have strong payroll skills and have excellent general accounting abilities. This position will report to the Controller and be a part of a small team. The role will be responsible for managing a biweekly payroll of 250 employees and supporting general ledger month and year-end close processes, balance sheet reconciliations, assist with the audit preparation, and support with other duties in the accounting department as well as assigned projects.

Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
Payroll experience comfortable processing a biweekly payroll (200 employees)
Solid payroll foundation understanding Payroll Tax Regulations, Labor Cost Allocations, California Labor Laws
Comfortable with your debits and credits and GAAPs (reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close)
Industry experience in a Non‑Profit would be nice to have
Payroll software experience with Paycom preferred. Proficiency with a third party payroll software platform such as ADP, Paylocity, UKG is good
Excellent communications (verbal & written)
Detailed, reliable, organized, and confidential
Team player, able to multi‑task, prioritize, gets the work done with a positive attitude
Experience 5 years of payroll experience and 2 years of general ledger accounting experience (Payroll Accountant, Payroll Manager, Payroll Specialist)
