Job Summary Under medical direction of staff anesthesiologist, this position provides professional anesthesia services in all hospital areas. Assists with anesthesia related medical situations such as airway maintenance and pulmonary ventilation.
Client compensation includes total annual salary range, employer 401(k) contribution, moving stipend, paid time off, and overtime compensation. Relocation is supported. All benefits are within the full compensation package described above.
Responsibilities
Preoperative evaluation by assessing staff notes, progress notes, lab work, and patient histories to determine appropriate anesthetic management.
Order additional analyses, consultations, lab work, and peri‑anesthetic medications as warranted.
Monitor functioning of all equipment and induce general and/or regional anesthesia.
Manage the anesthetic procedure by monitoring physical and biochemical indicators such as blood pressure, heart rate, EKG, blood loss, patient position, pulmonary compliance, arterial blood bases, etc.
Adjust anesthesia procedures and inform other medical personnel of all necessary developments.
Oversee recovery from anesthesia by observing the appropriate indicators in surgery and post‑anesthesia recovery room; perform post‑operative evaluation.
Make appropriate entries in staff notes, anesthesia records, and patient charts.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) as a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (CAA).
Current professional licensure in the state of Utah.
Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills.
Successful completion of an accredited anesthesiologist assistant program.
Exemption eligibility for required vaccination requirements.
Preferences None specified.
