Meta is seeking a Manager, Privacy Engineering for our Compliance Assessment and Automation Team. Privacy Analysts on this team build data infrastructure to respond to regulatory inquiries and monitor the effectiveness of business‑critical processes. They design and drive cross‑functional privacy initiatives in support of Meta’s compliance objectives. The Manager supports these analysts by hiring and developing a high‑performance team, building relationships with cross‑functional partners, and ensuring the team focuses on Meta’s most impactful work.
Base pay range $177,000.00/yr – $251,000.00/yr
Manager, Privacy Engineering Responsibilities
Support a team of Privacy Analysts that build data pipelines and develop complex SQL queries to support Meta’s compliance objectives
Partner with Privacy Leadership and engineering leaders across the company to drive the development of Key Control Indicators and support regulatory response activities
Provide leadership in developing and delivering innovative solutions to help enforce privacy practices with consistency and efficiency at scale
Work closely with technical and non‑technical teams, including Engineering, Product, and GRC
Develop a roadmap for future work, track progress against it, and evaluate the team’s performance
Minimum Qualifications
BS in Computer Science or equivalent technical field of study, or equivalent industry experience
8+ years of work experience in data engineering, software engineering, or privacy/security engineering, including 3+ years of hands‑on management of engineers and/or engineering managers
Experience recruiting and managing technical teams, including performance management
Experience building relationships and influencing stakeholders across multiple disciplines
Coding experience in at least one programming language
Preferred Qualifications
Experience running operational teams
Experience communicating highly technical concepts to non‑technical audiences
Experience with Data Engineering (e.g., Data Pipeline Development, ETL, etc.)
Experience in compliance and/or risk management within a large organization
