Overview The Cloud Technical Architect leads pre‑sales consulting, designing customer‑centric solutions that align Salesforce technology with business strategy.

Responsibilities

Partner with customer and sales teams to understand business and IT requirements and formulate compelling architectural recommendations.

Define and architect integrated solutions leveraging Salesforce, third‑party platforms, and enterprise integration patterns.

Deliver reference architectures, solution best practices, and educational engagements to customers, partners, and internal audiences.

Engage in solution enablement and go‑to‑market strategy development for the Salesforce Cloud portfolio.

Collaborate on delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, and industry summits.

Baseline Requirements

Translate business and IT needs into strategic solutions and present to executive, technical, and business audiences.

Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and delivery.

Some coding experience and willingness to work with code (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.).

Database and data management fundamentals.

Web and mobile application development and architecture.

Application lifecycle management and integration principles.

Enterprise data management tools and methods.

Process orchestration and security principles.

Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication.

Strategic problem solving and executive communication.

Excellent time management and support for multiple concurrent projects.

Lifelong learner passionate about technology and sharing knowledge.

Willing and able to travel domestically.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Graduate study a plus.

Preferred Requirements

Architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer experience in a customer‑facing role that delivered differentiated software technology solutions.

Hands‑on experience building, implementing, administering, or maintaining enterprise software.

Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance, and security in the enterprise software context.

Experience with design thinking, persona‑based discovery or other innovation techniques.

Proven experience in a specific field, vertical, or market segment is helpful.

Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including certifications or Trailhead Superbadges.

Core Skills & Experience

Understand complex business and IT requirements and translate into compelling solutions presented to executive, technical, and business audiences.

Strong coding and scripting experience (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.).

Solid database and data management principles, web and mobile application development, and system architecture.

Expertise in application lifecycle management, process orchestration, and enterprise integration principles and tools.

Strong grasp of network, application, and information security principles.

Agentic AI & Generative AI Desired Skills

Hands‑on experience developing, deploying, and managing agentic AI frameworks, including proficiency with the Salesforce agent framework.

Prompt engineering and large language model (LLM) expertise, including chain‑of‑thought, few‑shot, and retrieval‑augmented generation techniques.

Experience architecting and integrating generative AI solutions into enterprise systems, including API gateways, model management platforms, and data pipelines.

Deep understanding of Salesforce Data360 for unifying, harmonizing, and activating customer data, and using Data Cloud to prepare data for generative AI and agent‑based applications.

Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Flow for orchestrating complex business processes, especially those involving AI agents and automated workflows.

Strategic problem solver, thought leader, and comfortable communicating with executive audiences.

Excellent time management and ability to support multiple concurrent projects.

Compensation will be determined by location, job level, and experience. Base salary ranges for the Salesforce Cloud Technical Architect are $168,420 – $225,260 annually (regional variations apply). Bonus, equity, and benefits are additional components.
