Overview
We are seeking an experienced
Cost Accounting Manager
with strong manufacturing cost expertise and the ability to influence operations, finance, and leadership stakeholders. This role serves as a key business partner across multiple production sites, supporting cost transparency, accuracy, and profitability analysis for the organization.
Key Responsibilities Lead and manage all aspects of
product costing, production costing, and standard cost accuracy
across U.S. and international locations. Serve as a strategic partner to operations, supply chain, warehouse, and finance teams; provide day-to-day analysis, reporting, and insights. Maintain and improve costing processes within the
SAP
environment, including support for Production and Warehouse modules. Analyze manufacturing variances on a weekly basis; identify root causes and drive corrective actions with plant leadership. Support annual planning and budgeting activities, including standard cost updates and forecast inputs. Conduct routine reviews of work orders, cycle counts, inventory transactions, and production data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Prepare and deliver cost reporting packages for regional and business-unit leadership. Oversee cost cleanup initiatives, ensure proper controls, and maintain strong cost transparency across the business. Collaborate within a global organizational structure (US/CA/MX/EU) to ensure alignment of costing standards and methodology. Provide support and mentorship to junior cost accounting staff or controlling specialists as needed.
Environment & Structure High-volume, low-mix
mass production
environment with simple raw materials but multiple cost drivers. Multi-plant U.S. footprint with additional support of international locations. Role interfaces with regional presidents, BU leadership, and finance teams.
Qualifications Strong background in
manufacturing cost accounting
and product cost structures. 510+ years
of relevant experience (for a manager-level hire). Advanced proficiency with
SAP , particularly costing, production, and warehouse modules. Demonstrated ability to partner with operations and influence cross-functional teams. Experience analyzing variances, settling orders, reviewing work orders, and supporting standard cost cycles. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work onsite at a manufacturing location; flexibility may develop over time.
