The Mather Group (TMG) is seeking a detail-oriented Financial Planning Associate to support our growing wealth management team. We are looking for a professional who combines strong analytical skills with a client-focused mindset to help develop comprehensive financial plans across retirement, tax strategy, estate planning, and investment management. The ideal candidate will excel at gathering and interpreting client data, maintaining accurate information across systems like Salesforce and MoneyGuidePro, and preparing clear, compelling materials for client meetings.
Role Responsibilities Collaborating and supporting wealth advisors to create comprehensive financial plans that encompass retirement planning, tax strategies, estate planning, and investment management. Participating in client meetings to gather relevant financial information; comprehending clients goals, risk tolerance, and financial aspirations. Entering client information into repositories, including Salesforce and MoneyGuidePro while maintaining accurate and up-to-date client information, ensuring data integrity across all technologies. Assist in preparing client presentations and meetings, communicating financial plans and recommendations effectively to clients. Stay abreast of industry trends, tax law changes, and investment strategies to contribute valuable insights to the financial planning process. Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies in the development and execution of financial plans. Actively pursuing professional development opportunities, including obtaining relevant certifications, to enhance knowledge and skills in financial planning.
Required Experience Bachelors degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Consumer Economics, or a related field Relevant internship experience required. Desire to pursue the Certified Financial PlannerTM (CFP) designation within 18 months of hire. Familiarity with MoneyGuidePro, or other financial planning technology. Knowledge of financial products and financial planning concepts. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail. Effective communication skills, both written and verbal. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
Role Information Location: Chicago
3 days in office required Role Classification: Full-Time, Exempt
40+ hours per week Compensation: $70,000 - 85,000, plus annual bonus opportunity. Final compensation / base salary will be commensurate with experience.
