Selby Jennings is partnering with a private credit and equity investment firm with over $3B in AUM across sponsor-backed transactions in the lower middle market.. This is a pre-MBA Associate opportunity to join a tight-knit investment team in Houston. The role offers high deal velocity (6-10 transactions/year) and exposure across the full investment lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities: Work on 3-4 live deals at a time as part of a 3-person deal team Lead financial modeling, credit analysis, and due diligence Support deal structuring, credit memos, and investment committee presentations Assist in legal documentation and transaction closing Monitor portfolio companies and contribute to asset management Gain exposure across a generalist platform (healthcare, software, industrials, business services, etc.)
Qualifications : 18-24 months of investment banking or LMM transaction experience 3.5+ GPA from a top university Strong modeling, writing, and communication skills Ability to multi-task and thrive in small teams Direct ties to Houston or Texas Broad sector exposure
