Linux System Engineer (Austin)

We are working with our client, a leading high-frequency trading firm, that leverages cutting-edge technology to deliver liquidity and drive efficiency across global financial markets. Their success is built on ultra-low-latency systems, highly automated infrastructure, and world-class engineering talent. The Role Our clients trading platform runs on high-performance Linux servers distributed across global data centers. As a Systems Engineer, you will design, build, optimize, and support this infrastructure, working closely with engineering teams to ensure the platform remains fast, stable, and scalable. This role is based in Austin. What Youll Do Support and troubleshoot Linux-based production servers Build and maintain OS-level automation, packages, and scripts Optimize systems to reduce latency and improve performance Manage system configurations, upgrades, and change requests Partner with internal teams and external vendors on infrastructure solutions Contribute to capacity planning and long-term infrastructure strategy What Our Client Is Looking For 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems administration experience Hands-on kernel tuning and performance optimization experience Strong networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, NFS, DHCP, NTP, etc.) Experience with Ansible, Kickstart, Yum, Git, and/or SVN Proficiency in Bash, Python, or similar scripting languages Experience with BIOS and low-level system configuration Strong problem-solving skills in fast-paced, high-availability environments

This is a fulltime, W2 position requiring 5 days onsite. No 3rd parties
