Position Overview:
Jefferies Leveraged Finance team is seeking a Vice President. This role is based in New York, NY and entails direct involvement in execution, origination, and client-facing responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities: Lead the structuring, underwriting, and execution of leveraged finance transactions for corporate and financial sponsor clients (leveraged loans, high-yield bonds, project financings, unitranche & mezzanine financings, refinancings, recapitalizations). Oversee critical components of due diligence, credit underwriting, and legal documentation review, including commitment papers, credit agreements, and indentures. Prepare and present marketing materials, client pitch books, investor presentations, and participate in due diligence meetings. Foster and develop client relationships across sponsor and corporate networks; actively participate in client meetings with CEOs, CFOs, private equity firms. Collaborate seamlessly across internal teamsincluding Managing Directors, Associates, Analysts, and sector bankerson cross-functional deal execution.
Required Qualifications: Experience: 5+ years of leveraged finance experiencepreferably with exposure to energy, power or grid/infrastructure related deals (power, infrastructure, oil & gas, energy transition or project finance). Strong track record in credit underwriting, financial modeling, covenant structuring, and deal execution. Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, credit analysis, accounting, valuation methodologies (LBOs, cash flow forecasting). Communication & Interpersonal Skills: Excellent written and verbal abilities, with strong presentation and negotiation skills. Education: Bachelors degree from a top-tier university or an MBA / advanced degree. Personal Attributes: High attention to detail and sound judgment; ability to steer multiple complex transactions simultaneously; self-motivation with an entrepreneurial, team-oriented mindset. Location: Must be based in or willing to relocate to New York, NY.
