Director, Strategy & Finance

to join our team. The Director, Strategy & Finance is a key member of the firms leadership team, responsible for driving financial clarity, operational insight, and strategic growth. This role oversees all financial and operational reporting for the business, develops analytics to support decision-making, and leads strategic initiativesincluding organic / inorganic growth and organizational planning.

This leader brings strong financial acumen, a strategic mindset, and the ability to translate data into actionable recommendations. They will work closely with the Chief Operations and Financial Officer, Chief Architecture Officer, Chief Interior Design Officer/President and department heads to shape the firms direction and ensure scalable, sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis Own all business reporting, dashboards, and financial analytics, including monthly performance packages, KPI tracking, utilization, project profitability, backlog, and forecasting. Partner with Accounting to support budgeting, cash-flow planning, and audit needs. Analyze firm-wide operational performance and recommend improvements to cost structure, pricing, staffing models, and resource allocation. Develop and maintain executive-level dashboards and board-ready materials. Strategic Planning & Execution Support the COO and leadership team in annual and long-range strategic planning. Evaluate new market opportunities, service line expansion, and geographic growth. Drive business cases for major initiatives and operational improvements. Lead financial modeling, valuation, and due diligence for all potential corporate transactions, including financings, stock purchases / divestitures, and business acquisitions / divestitures. Coordinate all activities related to any corporate transaction. Operational Insight & Business Enablement Translate financial data into insights that improve project performance, staffing decisions, and firm-wide efficiency. Partner with Accounting and Operations to refine processes around forecasting, pricing, fee structuring, and performance management. Identify and implement tools, systems, and automation to increase reporting quality and efficiency. Lead all aspects of continuous improvement across the organization. Leadership & Collaboration Act as a strategic advisor to firm leadership, providing a clear perspective on the business financial health and strategic opportunities. Serve as a bridge between creative teams and business operations to ensure alignment of design excellence and commercial performance.

Qualifications 10-15+ years of relevant experience in finance, strategy, corporate development, investment banking or management consulting; experience in real estate or professional services strongly preferred. Strong understanding of accounting, financial reporting, project-based business models, and key metrics like utilization, realization and backlog. Demonstrated experience with corporate transactions, including transaction due diligence, financial modeling, and valuation. Advanced proficiency with Excel, Salesforce, and data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar). Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex information to executives in a clear, concise manner. Highly organized, analytically rigorous, and comfortable operating in a fast-changing business environment. Self-starter with the ability to lead initiatives from idea through execution. Bachelor's Degree (Required):

Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration. Master's Degree (Preferred):

MBA or Master's in Finance.
