Our client is seeking an entry level Fund Accountant to join its team. The Fund Accountant is responsible for assisting in the daily accounting and financial reporting for investment funds. This role provides support in maintaining accurate books and records, preparing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with internal controls and external regulations. The position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in fund operations and investment accounting within a professional financial services environment. This is a hybrid position with 3 days onsite required.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in the preparation of daily, monthly, and quarterly Net Asset Value (NAV) calculations for assigned funds.

Reconcile cash, positions, and transactions between internal systems, custodians, and investment managers.

Process journal entries and maintain general ledger accounts for assigned portfolios.

Support the preparation of investor statements, capital account statements, and financial reports.

Assist in the review of fund expenses, accruals, and fee calculations.

Collaborate with auditors during financial audits by providing supporting documentation.

Ensure compliance with fund policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Participate in system and process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Perform ad hoc analysis and reporting as requested by senior accountants or management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting or fund administration systems (e.g., Geneva, Investran, or similar) is a plus.

Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to work with large data sets.

Excellent organizational and time management skills.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
