Associate, Summary: The M&A Associate plays a key role in executing mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and capital-raising transactions. Associates work closely with Vice Presidents, Directors, and Managing Directors to manage deal processes, conduct financial analysis, and develop client presentations. Provide banking support to both the Sustainability/Energy and Healthcare IB teams.
Key Responsibilities: Deal Execution:
Manage end-to-end execution of M&A transactions, including financial due diligence, valuation, and structuring. Financial Modeling & Analysis:
Build detailed models (DCF, LBO, merger models, comparable company analysis) and perform scenario analyses to support decision-making. Client Interaction:
Participate in client meetings, calls, and negotiations; present analyses and recommendations under senior banker supervision. Preparation of Materials:
Lead preparation of pitchbooks, management presentations, information memoranda, and board materials. Due Diligence Coordination:
Liaise with legal, accounting, and industry advisors to gather information and ensure smooth deal flow. Market & Industry Research:
Conduct in-depth research to identify trends, competitive landscape, and strategic opportunities. Mentorship & Training:
Supervise Analysts, providing guidance on modeling, research, and presentation preparation.
Skills & Competencies: Strong financial modeling and valuation skills Advanced proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Excellent written and verbal communication skills Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and problem-solving ability Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines Client-facing professionalism and teamwork
