This role supports investments in new platform and add-on partnerships, participates in governance of the Granite Companies, drives value creation opportunities, and collaborates with the team as a leader in analytics and research.

The Senior Investment Associate role reports to the Investment Director and collaborates with the CEO, the COO, and the Investment Managers. The position has a path to becoming Investment Manager. This is a high impact role on a collaborative team at an innovative company committed to wellbeing and 100-year sustainability.

The Position The Senior Investment Associate will be responsible for the following key objectives and tasks.

Platform and Add-On Investor Identify and cultivate new platform and add-on investment opportunities. Research, analyze, and assess each opportunity with a disciplined and analytical approach grounded in prudence and a long-term ownership lens. Model, illustrate, and clearly communicate economic and stakeholder legacy considerations for entrepreneurs. Bring proven experience managing the full lifecycle of transactions by leading all aspects of diligence, documentation, and transaction process from origination through closing. Maintain and update the investment pipeline, create project work plans, manage documents and data rooms, coordinate meetings, spread financials, and prepare deliverables. Confidently navigate deal processes and relationships while balancing financial, legal, and strategic considerations.

Analyst and Value Creator Project manage and support post-deal integration, monitoring progress and creating and executing a value creation playbook. Support and collaborate with Granite Company leaders through Affinities to share best practices and resources. Generate insights through data. Develop key insights using tools such as ChatGPT, Excel, Domo, NetSuite SuiteAnalytics, and Anaplan. Extract, transform, and analyze data toward chart creation, metric visualization, KPI reporting, dashboarding, forecasting, and valuation. Systematize and strengthen firm and Granite Company processes and value creation metrics.

Researcher Deploy resourcefulness, intellectual curiosity, and strategic thinking to uncover and synthesize insightful research to innovate, solve business challenges, inform market and competitive intelligence, grow stakeholder value, and enhance world-class wellbeing. Scope and manage research with generative AI. Screen and lead primary research calls with industry and subject-matter experts. Field, delegate, and manage research requests.

Communicator Articulate effective, efficient, and compelling stories, Granite metrics, and new investments through written narrative and data visualization in various stakeholder channels. Create visually stimulating PowerPoint presentations to communicate strategic initiatives, summarize value creation opportunities, capture growth, and mitigate risk. Contribute content to the annual report, meeting materials, and other events and documents as needed.

Corporate Athlete Bring your individual passions and expertise to our Strategic Activities and Affinities. Serve as utility player horizontally (across all strategic activities) and vertically (from admin to analyst to associate to VP)

your duties will run the gamut. Support Investment Director and COO tasks across Finance, Governance, Recruiting, Strategy, Community, and Member Activities. Mentor and guide interns and future team members on professional development and technical skills. Serve as a Board Administrator for one of the Granite Companies and attend operating company board meetings. Advance mission, vision, values, and objective.

Qualifications & Qualities Education & Experience 5-7+ years of experience in investing, consulting, investment banking, corporate development and/or related fields. Bachelors degree with outstanding academic record. MBA and certifications (CFA, CFP, CPA, CMA, CAIA) valued.

Skills Strong financial, analytical, and modeling capabilities. Self-starter, proactive, problem-solver and critical thinker who is detail-oriented and results-driven. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Experienced project manager. Excel and PPT guru. Passion for using AI, cloud-based software applications and IT systems. Experience in structuring, diligencing, documenting, and financing investment transactions, ensuring both rigor and creativity in execution, in partnership with advisors and counterparties.

Compensation & Benefits We offer a competitive base salary in the $150,000 to $180,000 range, based on experience and qualifications, along with an annual bonus and the opportunity to participate in a unique and powerful long-term incentive program after two years of service.
