Larger Non-Profit in the Milpitas/Fremont boarder is seeking a Finance Manager to join their team!

This is a newly created position due to growth!

Ideal candidate brings Non-Profit or Philanthropy industry experience, but the client is flexible to train on aspects of the business.

Pay is up to $140K FTE plus strong benefits and retirement

5-days onsite is preferred in their Fremont, CA location!

Key Responsibilities

Budgeting & Forecasting Support and coordinate the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasts in partnership with departmental leaders. Develop and maintain financial models and scenario analyses to support planning and decision-making. Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, identify variances, and provide clear explanations and recommendations.

Financial Reporting Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal management and external stakeholders. Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., GAAP/IFRS). Maintain and improve reporting tools, templates, and systems to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Performance Analysis Analyze financial results, trends, and key cost drivers to support operational and strategic initiatives. Provide financial insights and recommendations to management based on data and analysis. Develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) and dashboards for ongoing performance monitoring.

Process Improvement & Controls Identify opportunities to streamline budgeting, forecasting, and reporting processes. Help ensure financial controls are followed consistently across the organization. Collaborate with audit, compliance, and finance leadership to address control gaps and implement best practices.

Team Collaboration & Leadership Supervise and mentor finance staff as assigned, supporting skill development and performance. Work cross-functionally with departments to ensure financial alignment with organizational priorities. Serve as a trusted finance partner by communicating financial information clearly and effectively.

Preferred Qualifications Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (Masters preferred). Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, or equivalent is a plus. 5+ years of experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting. Strong understanding of financial and accounting principles, including financial modeling. Proficiency in financial systems (e.g., Sage Intacct, Financial Edge, MIP, or similar) and advanced Excel skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Experience supervising or mentoring staff preferred. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Flexibility to work occasional evenings or weekends as needed. Experience with nonprofit and fund accounting is desirable. Willingness to travel occasionally for audits, site visits, or training. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of financial, client, and employee information.
