Job Title Social Worker II

Department Tenant and Community Services

Employment Status Full-Time; Non-Exempt

Pay Range $32.00 - $36.06/hour

Location 730 Stanyan, SF CA 94102

Schedule 4 Days on-site; 1 day remote

Summary Under the general direction of the Social Worker/Site Supervisor, the Social Worker is responsible for assisting residents living in TNDC properties with housing stabilization & retention by providing counseling, support services, community outreach, advocacy, information, and referrals to off-site providers.

Language proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin, Russian, or Spanish may be required depending on the building or portfolio.

TNDC supports the professional growth of staff in the Tenant and Community Services Department's Social Work Unit, including pursuing licenses like LCSW, LPCC, and MFT, through agreements with private supervisors, work time, and financial resources. Details provided upon hire.

Essential Duties

Deliver culturally inclusive support services for tenants.

Manage caseloads and conduct outreach, including home visits.

Identify tenant needs and maintain awareness of health status.

Complete intakes and needs assessments.

Develop individualized service plans with tenants.

Provide trauma-informed case management and counseling.

Assist with housing stabilization, retention, and eviction prevention.

Offer crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and referrals.

Support community-building activities and interdepartmental collaboration.

Attend meetings and develop community resources.

Ensure compliance with reporting, HIPAA, and PHI policies.

Document all services and participate in intake processing.

Respond promptly to communication and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Required Skills

Knowledge of homelessness issues, Trauma-Informed Care, and mental health/substance abuse.

Cultural humility and ability to work with diverse populations.

Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Computer proficiency, confidentiality, and team collaboration skills.

Benefit advocacy and leadership abilities.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field.

Two years of experience with low-income populations and providing direct services.

Experience linking clients to services, working with diverse groups, and understanding relevant issues.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Harm Reduction, Permanent Supportive Housing, and eviction prevention.

Language skills in Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Russian.
